‘Anora’s Mikey Madison Chooses ‘Peeling’ Calvin Klein Corset Dress for 2025 Independent Spirit Awards Red Carpet

“Anora” lead Mikey Madison had her latest award circuit appearance on Saturday in Los Angeles at the Independent Spirit Awards. The performer is up for lead actor, jockeying against Demi Moore, Sebastian Stan and Colman Domingo, among others. For the red carpet, Madison chose a dress with a peeling design.

Madison’s dress is fresh off the Calvin Klein Collection fall 2025 runway, shown earlier this month. It is a strapless corset dress. It is composed of two layers: a black wool paneled top that is seemingly peeling away to reveal the cream cotton under-layer. It is a tea-length design that she paired with black Christian Louboutin Me Dolly mules and Tahitian pearl earrings from Tiffany & Co. She was styled by Jamie Mizrahi.

Fall 2025 marked the return of Calvin Klein Collection, now under the direction of Veronica Leoni. Leoni is the first female creative director of the label and showed her debut collection on a mix of male and female models with brand founder Calvin Klein sitting front row. It was one of the most anticipated collections of New York Fashion Week.

“I loved it,” Klein told WWD of the range. “I loved the coats. I started in coats, and I thought they were so dramatic and inventive and architectural. The tailoring was beautiful. The fabrics are quite wonderful. I loved the dresses too. For a start, it was quite extraordinary.”

Leoni, an alum of The Row, Jil Sander and Celine, sent out a “premium fashion” line that aimed to nod to to the company’s archive while providing consumers with daywear. “It was that quintessential everyday American wardrobe she wanted to bring up to date, alongside Klein’s tailoring, lightening construction without sacrificing the neat and sharp look,” WWD’s Booth Moore wrote.

Mizrahi has put Madison in a range of brands for red carpets and press appearances. For an interview on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” this week, she wore a vintage Thierry Mugler skirt suit in mint. Days before that at the BAFTA Awards she was in a strapless Prada gown. After taking home the prize for leading actress, she attended an after-party in a gold Prada minidress.
