Yahoo Lifestyle Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Are Married
Speculation has been rife for months, but today it was finally confirmed that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are married.
The couple tied the knot in France, where they own an estate in the village of Corren.
Jolie and Pitt's spokesperson confirmed to The Associated Press the wedding took place in a "small chapel" at the Chateau Miraval and was attended by only a small number of friends and family.
The couple's six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, reportedly all had a role to play in the ceremony, with the boys walking Jolie down the aisle and the girls strewing flower petals before her.
"The reason for getting married was very simple," a close friend of the couple's reportedly said. "Obviously they love each other very much but every single day their kids ask them to get married. They ask them multiple times a day as well so they finally broke them down and go their wish. And now that everyone is old enough to understand what is going on they decided why not!"
While details of Angelina Jolie's dress are scarce, a source told E News! the actress walked down the aisle in a white dress which was "very traditional, but very Angie, it was comfortable but plain white floor-length antique lace and silk."
While the designer of the gown is still unknown, the website claims the star "definitely wore something that once belonged to [her late mother] Marcheline Bertrand."
Jolie and Pitt, who first met on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith in 2005, announced their engagement in 2012.
