Amy Poehler has revealed a surprising perk she had while working on the SNL50.

The Saturday Night Live alum, who starred on the late-night sketch series from 2001 until 2008, recently explained that the 50th-anniversary special was so star-studded that all of its talent had to get real cozy.

"My fun name drop of that weekend was — there were so many people that people had to share dressing rooms," Poehler recalled on a new episode of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast. "So I was sharing my dressing room with Meryl Streep. Just like a fan. I took a picture of the door that said my name and Meryl Streep and it was really cool."

She also revealed that Streep — who made her SNL debut on the special — took her role very seriously. "She was getting ready for her sketch and really rehearsing it," Poehler said, "and I remember thinking, 'I never rehearsed as hard as Meryl Streep is in this one moment.' I was like, 'Don't overthink it! Just be loud!'"

Streep, 75, made a surprise appearance during the special's "Close Encounters" sketch, which portrayed a trio of individuals (Kate McKinnon, Pedro Pascal, and Woody Harrelson) sharing their unique alien abduction experiences to representatives for the U.S. government (Aidy Bryant and Jon Hamm). Streep joined in on the extraterrestrial fun as Colleen Rafferty Sr., the raunchy, chain-smoking mother of McKinnon's character Colleen Rafferty, who was also taken by aliens that same evening.

Poehler starred in two SNL50 sketches, a Q&A segment that saw her taking questions from the audience with Tina Fey and a reprise of her “Bronx Beat” sketch with Maya Rudolph, Miles Teller, and Mike Myers.

In addition to sharing a dressing room with Streep, Poehler had the good fortune of getting to sit next to Jack Nicholson in the audience during the special.

"It was a night of famous alumni and people. I sat down and turned to my left and it was Jack Nicholson," Poehler said on the podcast. "I was like, 'Of course. My old friend, my dear friend Jack Nicholson.'"

"I think when those things happen, I just go with it," host Conan O'Brien replied. "I just say, 'Of course Jack Nicholson is here. Of course my comedy heroes are here.'"

Poehler agreed, saying, "I mean, you have to fake it!"
