Amelia Dimoldenberg Reveals Where She Stands with Andrew Garfield amid News He's Dating Monica Barbaro

Amelia Dimoldenberg and Andrew Garfield will probably not end up together, despite what the internet thinks.

The 31-year-old Chicken Shop Date host opened up to The New Yorker on Feb. 24 and revealed that she doesn't think a relationship with the We Live in Time actor, 41 is "going to happen," playfully teasing, "otherwise I would be going out with him already."

Dimoldenberg's latest comments come after a source revealed to PEOPLE on Feb. 21 that Garfield and A Complete Unknown actress Monica Barbaro, 34, are quietly dating.

Dimoldenberg and Garfield's flirty banter first went viral after they met at GQ's Men of the Awards in November 2022 and reached its peak during their highly anticipated Chicken Shop Date in October 2024.

During her interview with The New Yorker, she opened up about their chemistry during the episode, noting that she "loved that you could feel there was some sincerity there."

“I was being real. He’s an actor, so I didn’t know what was going through his head," she continued. "But I was being somewhat true. And afterward, it was, like, ‘People are really liking this, actually.’ ”

Dimoldenberg also confirmed she's only ever had one long-term relationship in the 10 years she's hosted Chicken Shop Date and clarified she's currently single at the moment, shutting down previous romance rumors with producer Adam Faze.

"Part of me thinks that the reason I’ve been single for so long is because I have this dating show, and it’s easier for me that I’m single because I’m living the character,” she explained, adding that in her private life, she's turned to dating apps and her friends to set up dates for her.

“I go through waves of finding it really hard to meet people, and then my first thought is ‘I’m so unattractive,’” she continued. “When I’m super single, I just go into this place where I convince myself not that I’m unattractive — like, I know that I’m not — but more, like, ‘Every single person thinks I’m ugly, but they’re wrong.’ ”

While this persona is different from her confident and flirty persona when she's hosting Chicken Shop Date, she adds, “I do have good self-confidence, but it just manifests in a different way, where I just think people are out to get me.”
