Amanda Bynes pops up at 50 Cent show in Las Vegas in rare public appearance

These days, Amanda Bynes tends to avoid public appearances… but she recently made an exception for 50 Cent.
The Nickelodeon alum, who rose to fame on All That and The Amanda Show, recently attended the "In Da Club" rapper's Las Vegas residency, where she joined him backstage for a meet and greet, according to a video posted to X on Dec. 30. The short clip, captured by self-described YouTuber and podcaster Victor Baez, shows Bynes posing for a photo with 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) before thanking him profusely on her way out. All the while, the "Candy Shop" rapper smiled gratefully.
The "P.I.M.P." rapper is ringing in the new year with his limited residency, which kicked off on Dec. 27 and will run through Jan. 4.
Bynes has largely retreated from public life in recent years. A fixture of the '90s and early '00s, the actress is known for starring on The WB's What I Like About You, and in films including She's the Man, Big Fat Liar, and Hairspray. Her final film role was 2010's Easy A, before she announced her retirement from the entertainment industry. After struggling with substance abuse in her teen years, Bynes was placed in a conservatorship in 2013, which was eventually terminated in 2022. She was set to reunite with other All That performers at ‘90s Con in 2023, but ultimately didn’t attend the event.
Bynes also did not participate in the documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV but due to her close professional connection to the doc’s subject, Amanda Show creator Dan Schneider, was frequently mentioned by several former Nickelodeon stars and crew members who were interviewed in the series. Bynes has yet to comment publicly on the subject.
Her Las Vegas outing isn't Bynes' only recent appearance. Earlier this month, she cohosted an art show and clothing pop-up with apparel designer Austin Babbitt in West Hollywood, Calif. The exhibit included some of her own art pieces, which Bynes referenced when announcing the show in October. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, she wrote on her Instagram story, "My associate's of art degree majoring in product development at FIDM paid off."
