“I am always so in awe of you when we're on set together,” Brie, 42, told Franco, 39, in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. “It's very attractive!”
The couple, married since 2017, costar and co-produce the new thriller Together, which is screening at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin, Texas. On the red carpet at the Paramount Theatre on Thursday, March 7, Franco admitted that yes, his wife has mentioned it’s “attractive” working with him.
“We just gain more and more respect for each other," he said of working together both on and off screen.
“We are getting to watch each other do new things,” Brie added. “I'm endlessly impressed by the amount that Dave pushes himself outside of his comfort zone.”

From Left: Alison Brie and Dave Franco in 'Together'Together, from writer-director Michael Shanks in his directorial debut, stars the couple as Tim and Millie, reuniting for the first time on-screen since costarring in 2017’s The Little Hours and The Disaster Artist. Franco also directed his wife in 2023's Somebody I Used to Know.
“With a move to the countryside already testing the limits of a couple’s relationship, a supernatural encounter begins an extreme transformation of their love, their lives, and their flesh,” per a synopsis from the 2025 Sundance Film Festival where Together first premiered in January.
The thriller, the GLOW star told PEOPLE, was a chance to see Franco try things “I haven't seen him do before… Just his sheer physicality — I've always known Dave was a natural athlete but watching the things he does in this movie was truly surprising.”
The Now You See Me star praised Brie’s “work ethic and just how much she cares every single day, every detail.” With a laugh, he added, “Like she was saying about me in terms of physicality, she was throwing her body around in ways that she probably shouldn't! But we're both just determined to make everything look very authentic so at the end of the day it was worth it.”

Shanks’ script was “excellent,” Brie said of signing on to star and produce. “We're very picky about projects that we act in together and it made a lot of sense for this — the idea that we had been together for as long as we have, for a decade, would actually inform the characters and could add to the story,” she continued.
