Alec has expressed his gratitude for Hilaria's support in recent weeks. During a December appearance on the Fail Better with David Duchovny podcast, Alec reflected on how his time facing an involuntary manslaughter charge in connection to the on-set death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins affected his wife. Baldwin's case was dismissed with prejudice in July, and the legal case officially ended in December when prosecutors declined to appeal that decision any further.

"She is the most spiritually ascended human being I've ever met, and she was kind to me and supportive of me," Alec said on that podcast. "She was frustrated. She was in pain. She suffered tremendously."

"You're a guy, you fall in love with somebody, and you're like, 'What can I do to make my wife safe?' And I couldn't do anything to stop what was happening to me," he added.
