Aldi brings back popular garden Special Buy: 'So cute!'

Aldi has launched its latest range of garden statues for meerkat lovers. The German retailer has offered meerkat garden gnomes before and they always fly off the shelves, so it's no surprise that these adorable characters are back to brighten up our gardens.

"We are delighted to be bringing our unique little critter ornaments back to our shelves as part of our Special Buys this week," an Aldi spokesperson told Yahoo! Lifestyle. "These meerkat and animal statues can add a little Good Different to any outdoor spaces."

Last year, when these cute garden statues came out, shoppers were quick to share their love for the Gardenline product.

"It really was a tough choice hey. My 4-year-old little boy loves them," one mum wrote on a post in Facebook group Aldi Mums.

"Omg I brought the SES Meekat, the platypus and the koala. So damn cute additions to my front verandah," another buyer wrote.

"I got the policeman and teacher also they are super cute," another added.

But Aldi have actually been selling them since at least 2018.

The 2018 and 2019 the baby meerkats seemed to be inspired by popular movie characters including a wizard, a Jedi, a boxer, a knight, a pirate, a scout and what looks like a spy who may prefer their drink shaken not stirred!!!

Woolworths also has had huge success with their Mirabella collectables range of meerkats, with Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci revealing in September last year that a whopping 60,000 meerkat statues had been sold in less than a month.

But it's not just meerkats that Aldi has in the garden ornaments, there are also some charming animal collectables as well.

The garden ornament sale features typical animals you would find in the Aussie countryside including a koala, owl, crocodile, sheep cow, and our favourite, a platypus!

These are sure to be popular as they have been in the past, so if you're hoping to get your hands on them, you may need to do some pre-planning.

Aldi has warned that there are still some delays in getting the products into stores for the day they are advertised but offered this handy hint.

"We encourage all customers to check out the ALDI Special Buys delay page here,” it said.
