Aldi veggie mix price leaves shoppers flabbergasted: 'Ridiculous'
Loyal Aldi customers have questioned the possibility of a mistake behind the outrageous pricing.
Shoppers have been left gobsmacked by the eye-watering price of an Aldi vegetable mix, prompting a flurry of speculation on social media about whether the pricing is accurate.
A shocked customer posted a snapshot of the basic soup and casserole mix in the produce department of the popular discount retailer, where it had been priced at a staggering $34.99, equating to $68.98 per kilo.
Expressing her disbelief, the member of a Facebook group for mums to share their Aldi finds commented, "I know the cost of living has increased Aldi, but come... this is ridiculous! Thought it was funny, know (or hoping!) it's a mistake".
The post triggered a wave of astonishment among group members regarding the exorbitant price of the vegetable mix.

"Think I'll cut my own veggies thank you," one person commented, while another jokingly quipped, "At that price, I'd like Jamie Oliver to come and cook for me".
"Not in a million years would I pay that," another group member firmly stated.
"That's 7 bottles of Aldi wine!" remarked someone else, "I know which one I would pick!"
However, amidst the reactions, several sensible customers chimed in to suggest that the pricing must be an error.
"I would think it's just an honest mistake," one person wrote, while another suggested, "Clearly there's an issue with the electronic price tag."
However, on the contrary, another member of the group shared their personal encounter with the item in-store and their conversation with Aldi staff.
They recalled, "I spoke with a staff member whose reply was 'Nothing I can do about it.' I kept it in my basket thinking it may scan correctly, but no, it scanned at the counter at $34.99. I then removed it from my shopping. It's obviously a mistake, but staff need to remove it from the shelves and attempt to fix it."
In response, other group members quickly chimed in, suggesting that given the current cost of living increases, they "wouldn't be surprised" if the high price was indeed accurate.
