Trader Joe's is known for its fan-favorite items, from S'mores Ice Cream to Strawberry & Jalapeño Crisps, which often fly off the shelves. However, one item that has become particularly elusive is the popular Kimbap (Korean sushi), which has been nearly impossible to find lately. If you've been on the hunt for this favorite, you might want to check out Aldi's frozen section.

Aldi's New Frozen Kimbap in 2 Flavors

According to TikTok user @kelbelfoodie, Aldi has introduced a new Kimbap that’s giving fans serious Trader Joe’s vibes. The discount grocer recently released its own fully-cooked Kimbap, available in the frozen aisle in two flavors: Spicy Salmon and BBQ Beef Bulgogi.

Each flavor comes as a hand roll made of seaweed and rice, cut into eight bite-sized pieces. To enjoy, simply pop them in the microwave for five minutes, and voila!

Aldi isn’t the only store to jump on the Kimbap bandwagon. Back in the spring, Costco launched its version of Fried Tofu & Vegetable Kimbap, and some customers even claimed it was better than Trader Joe’s version.

Reddit users have been buzzing about Aldi’s new Kimbap, with one person saying, “I’m going back for more.” Others praised the product, noting that it’s a “good portion size for the money.” One user even speculated that it “looks like the same manufacturer as the Trader Joe’s tofu one, which is fire.”

If you’re a Kimbap fan, you can grab these at Aldi for $3.99 each. Reddit users have reported spotting them in areas like Chicago, Massachusetts, and near Charlotte.

However, judging by the TikTok post, you might have trouble finding them, as they seem to be selling out quickly in some stores—hello, Trader Joe’s flashbacks!
