Aldi fans lose their minds over Special Buys fire pit: 'I need one'
It looks like your winter nights are about to be a whole lot warmer, thanks to the latest luxe-looking Special Buy at Aldi.
The bargain supermarket kicks off its new gardening Special Buys on Saturday, April 16, and one product is in hot demand - the Stone-Look Fire Pit.
It comes with a powder-coated steel fire bowl, mesh cap, charcoal grate and fire poker.
Apart from being a super stylish addition to an outdoor area, shoppers say the fibreglass pit is a bargain buy for $129.
It's a far cry from similar stone-look versions at other retailers, including Bunnings and Temple and Webster, which retail for upwards of $300.
The last time the Aldi Special Buy hit shelves, it was an absolute sell-out and it looks set to fly out pretty quickly this time too.
“Wow! Look at that fire pit,” one excited shopper said on a shopping Facebook page.
In the past, shoppers said the luxe item was a great addition to their outdoor area.
“Looks fantastic,” one woman said of another’s outdoor setup.
Shoppers offer fire pit tips
Those who were lucky enough to grab the fire pit last time it was on sale, had a tip for others about to purchase it.
“If you leave it out in the weather, my mum suggested to add some water holes to let the rainwater drain out, or it will rust,” one person suggested.
“I’ll give you a good tip, drill a hole in the basin to drain any water; ours has rusted through as the rainwater collected in it and ruined it; other than that it’s a great fire pit,” another agreed.

Be prepared for delays
Aldi is warning customers not all products will be available in all stores, thanks to Special Buy product delays.
“Due to shipping delays, Special Buys may not be in store on the advertised on-sale date,” the Aldi website states.
“We’re doing our best to limit these delays and ensure on-sale dates are correct … however, they are subject to change, due to factors outside our control.
"Delayed products will be available in store as soon as possible.”
You can check availability at your store by visiting the Aldi Special Buys Delay page to know if the items will be available at their local ALDI, and when.
