Adorable photos of the royal family released

Two adorable portraits of the royal family have been released, ahead of the Prince of Wales’ 70th birthday.

The photos, which were taken by photographer, Chris Jackson, back in September, show Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, sitting on a bench with five-year-old Prince George and three-year-old Princess Charlotte.

Behind them Prince William can be seen beaming, while his wife, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, holds on tight to their precious six-month-old baby boy, Prince Louis.

Prince Charles’ 34-year-old son, Prince Harry is also in the photo, with his new wife, 37-year-old Meghan Markle.

One photo shows the whole family laughing at something in the distance, with Meghan Markle bent over. Camilla pointing out something to Princess Charlotte and Prince George giggling with his mouth open.

The next photo shows the royal family adopt a more serious pose, while still smiling for the joyous occasion.

Just hours before Clarence House officially released the photos, an unknown leak posted the images online, with the snaps subsequently appearing all over the social media.

Meghan stands out

While the rest of the family is gathered in coordinated shades of blue, white and cream, Meghan Markle stands out in a monochrome frock – either she didn’t get the memo, or she’s making a deliberate, subtle effort to stand out.

Kate Middleton can be seen in the photos wearing a stunning polka dot Alessandra Rich midi dress, which was previously seen on Meghan’s friend, Abigail Spencer at the royal wedding.

This is the first time, since his christening, back in July, that a picture has officially been released of Prince Louis with the rest of the family.

Last week, a photo of Prince Charles with his youngest grandchild, Prince Louis, hit the internet, after Buckingham Palace posted a snapshot of the photo, before it appeared in the new BBC documentary on his life, called Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70.

The heir to the throne was seen playing affectionately with the tiny prince, who was being held by his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Doting grandfather

In the doco, Charles’ wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall gushed about how amazing a grandparent her husband is.

“He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know making funny noises and laughing and my grandchildren adore him, absolutely adore him,” she said.

“He reads Harry Potter and he can do all the different voices and I think children really appreciate that.”

His eldest son, Prince William, also praised his father’s grandparenting capabilities, although he admitted he would like Charles to “have more time with the children”.

Meghan and Harry expecting a baby

Prince Charles will soon be a doting grandfather to four grandchildren, as his youngest son Prince Harry his wife Meghan Markle is pregnant.

Just hours after they arrived in Australia last month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their first child together.
