Addison Rae Steams Up Car Windows on a Sexy Drive in Music Video for New Single 'Diet Pepsi'

The song marks the 'Thanksgiving' star's first musical release since her debut EP, ‘AR,’ dropped last summer

Addison Rae is back with a new song!

The pop star, actress and social media personality, 23, gave fans a taste of her new sound on Aug. 9 with the sleek pop track “Diet Pepsi” and its steamy music video.

In the video, Rae and heartthrob co-star Drew Van Acker drive with the windows down, wind whipping through her hair, as she sings, “When we drive in your car / I’m your baby / Losing all my innocence in the backseat.”

The pair stop the car for a moment as Rae writes “XO” in the steamed-up car window, before continuing to drive. The sexy trip concludes in the parking lot of a convenience store, where Rae rushes in to snag the song’s titular beverage, cracks open a cold can and then seductively drapes herself in an American flag.

“I really do like Pepsi!!” the singer captioned a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos from the music video set on Instagram after the video dropped.

The song marks the Thanksgiving star’s “beginning of a new era of music,” according to a press release, and her first solo musical release since last summer's AR EP. In March, Rae — and her now-iconic scream — were featured on a viral remix to the Charli xcx track “Von Dutch” off the British singer's Brat album.

"It's been a joy and so exciting and so fulfilling and rewarding,” Rae told PEOPLE in February about the release of the EP. “I feel like it's always so nice to just put something out.”

After gaining traction on TikTok in late 2019, Rae launched her pop career with the standalone single “Obsessed” in 2021. She then went quiet on the music front — until several demos leaked online, and delighted fans clamored for more.

"To this day, I still have no idea how that happened, but everything happens for a reason," Rae told PEOPLE. "After the songs surfaced online, unbeknownst to me, I was like, 'Oh, I wish there was a way that I could have these out.'"

Rae's fans finally got their wishes in August 2023, as she released four finished tracks on AR. But that was only the beginning for rising pop star, who told PEOPLE, “I'm always in the studio, so we'll see what happens.”
