School is back in session for Janine Teagues and her coworkers

School is back in session for Abbott Elementary!

On Wednesday, Sept. 25, ABC shared the all-new trailer for season 4 of the three-time Emmy-winning sitcom.

“We want books. We want paper towels in the class. I bet y’all want raises, too,” Principal Ava Coleman (Janelle James) mockingly says to Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph) and Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter) in the clip as she complains about her staff requesting basic needs.

Next, a montage plays featuring Janine Teagues (Quinta Brunson), Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams), Jacob Hill (Chris Perfetti) and Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis) going about their typical, chaotic days at the fictional Philadelphia public school.

School dances and HR visits are just some of the shenanigans seen in season 4.

“We asked the district for more after-school programs,” a cheerful Janine begins in a confessional scene. “They gave us $50 for class pets instead.”

Janine is then seen attempting to play with a Guinea pig held by Melissa before yelping in pain as she pulls her hand back from the rodent’s mouth area.

“He’s a biter,” Janine says, nervously laughing while showing off her hands — which reveal two colorful band-aids.

Barbara seems to have better luck with her class pet.

“We are going to get along swimmingly,” she says while holding a fish bowl.

In addition to animals instead of after-school activities, there is also a ringworm outbreak at Abbott Elementary, sending the teachers and faculty into panic mode. Principal Coleman takes no chances in a full-on hazmat suit.

“I love you like a son, Jacob, but I will beat you down,” Mr. Johnson tells his co-worker as the staff tries their best to avoid the contagious fungal infection.

“Cancel classes, burn Abbott down!” Gregory yells before locking himself in a classroom as the rest of the staff is seen gathering different disinfectants.

“In this workplace comedy, a group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these incredible educators may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children,” a synopsis reads.
