Who loves going back to school every week on Abbott Elementary? For the last four seasons, people have enjoyed watching the inner-workings of a Philadelphia public school — and all the antics the unique group of teachers find themselves getting into.
From Janine Teagues (Quinta Brunson) finally getting together with Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams) to Jacob Hill (Chris Perfetti) and Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter) balancing being roommates co-workers, there's always something occurring on Abbott Elementary. We also can't forget how much we enjoy Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph) being like the staff's work mom, or Principal Ava Coleman (Janelle James) giving her employees something to complain about. No matter the case, each episode has fans tuning in every week — so much so that the show will be back on the air for season 5 this fall.
But here's the bad news. While we were hoping to see a new storyline this week, fans will be disappointed to learn there won't be a new episode of Abbott Elementary airing tonight, Wednesday, February 19. But fear not, our dear friends — it won't be long before a new episode comes back on the air.

As for the reason behind the unexpected TV hiatus, Abbott Elementary never explicitly shared details behind it. But as it turns out, the show alerted fans to the the situation earlier than expected. Posting a graphic of a calendar for February 2025 on Instagram, it was revealed that this would be the only week when a new episode wouldn't air throughout the month.
"Your February plans are here! Who's ready for three new episodes of #AbbottElementary? 📅," read the official caption on February 1.
Well, now this makes some sense! But what can viewers expect from the next episode of Abbott Elementary? According to an official press release, the upcoming episode (titled "100th Day of School") will see Abbott Elementary get into the spirit of celebrating reaching 100 days of the school year. Elsewhere, folks will get to see Barbara get a surprise from her daughter, while Melissa, Jacob and Mr. Johnson must get together in order to initiate an as-yet-unknown search party.
With this major tease, we definitely can't wait to see what happens next week!
