The $89 Kmart coffee machine mums are losing it over

Kmart has once again outdone themselves – this time with an $89 espresso coffee maker that Aussie shoppers can’t get enough of it.

Complete with a milk frother, adjustable steam knob, and the ability to produce single or double shot espressos, it’s no wonder many people on the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook page are going crazy for this new machine.

After one woman posted a video on how to use the nifty device on the popular group, many immediately commented saying they were going to order the item online.

Of course it isn’t the only low-cost machine on the market, with Aldi selling their Espressi machine for $79.99, Nescafe’s Dolce Gusto models go for around $59, and the Lavazza Jolie espresso retails for $79 – all of which take coffee capsules rather than beans.

Getting excited about the Kmart offering, one barista shared her expertise on how to get the optimum cup of coffee.

“Only put the group handle into the machine RIGHT BEFORE you press the button, as leaving it in there will burn the coffee and it may taste quite bitter,” the woman commented.

She also suggested to froth the milk first, because leaving “the coffee shot sitting there too long it splits and you lose the crema”.

The woman also insisted this machine would be a better option than instant coffee.

“Totally understand this isn’t a top quality machine but it looks great and you will get a good coffee that’s better than instant,” she said.

However, in another post on the Facebook one woman offered some “constructive feedback” on the coffee machine.

“Set it up at home immediately and major design flaw… it doesn’t fit a coffee mug or my coffee glasses under it; even if I remove the catch/overflow tray,” she explained.

In all fairness, as some other commenters pointed out, the product is marketed as an ‘espresso coffee machine’.

And still, for $89 it’s a pretty sweet deal for a coffee machine.
