It seems Liam Hemsworth has the same penchant for high-end wrist candy as his older brother, Chris. The Hunger Games star showed off a sought-after Rolex Cosmograph Daytona at the SiriusXM studios on Monday. This model (Ref. 116508-0009) was produced from 2011 until 2023, after which it was discontinued and replaced with a very similar successor (Ref. 126508-0002). Both watches feature 40 mm yellow-gold cases, black dials with champagne-colored subdials, gold bezels with tachymeter scales, and matching gold Oyster bracelets. The seconds hand did, however, change from red to gold and the movement from the caliber 4130 to the caliber 4131. You can expect to pay in excess of $50,000 for a pre-owned example.

Bryan Cranston: Rolex Datejust II

Bryan Cranston decided to leave his Rolex Oyster Perpetual at home and instead wear a Datejust II to the Dos Hombres event last Saturday. Produced from 2009 to 2016, this model was essentially an updated take on the classic Datejust from 1945. Featuring a slightly larger 41 mm case and a new movement (Caliber 3136), the watch was available in a range of materials and with an array of dials. Cranston’s has a stainless-steel case, a white-gold fluted bezel, a blue dial, and a steel Oyster bracelet. You can get a similar example for about $10,245 on the secondary market or, if you’re lucky, get a brand new Datejust 41 for slightly more at $10,350.

Aaron Paul: Rolex Oyster Perpetual

Aaron Paul has once again shown some love for his hombre Bryan Cranston. The actor wore the rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual (Ref. 124300-0007), reportedly gifted to him by his Breaking Bad co-star, at an event for their mezcal brand Dos Hombres this week. Cranston got himself the exact same watch because friendship bracelets are so passe. The 41 mm steel timepiece, nicknamed OP41, was the largest Oyster Perpetual ever released by the Crown. Launched in 2020, the model was available in a variety of bright colors. Paul and Cranston own a highly coveted reference with a “Coral” red dial that was discontinued after only about a year and a half of production. You can expect to pay upwards of $10,000 if you want to get your hands on one now.

Nigerian singer-songwriter Wizkid executed a little horological wizardry at a Business of Fashion event this week, wearing not one but two incredible timepieces at once. Fitted to his wrist was an elegant Patek Philippe Aquanaut, with a 40.8 mm rose gold case, a brown embossed dial, and a matching brown strap. Adorning his neck was the newly released Chanel Première Sound—a timeless octagonal timepiece attached to a long sautoir necklace equipped with a pair of wired headphones. The wristwatch is priced at $47,130, while the watch necklace costs roughly $16,400 (€14,800).

Omega poster boy Andrew Garfield sported his trusty De Ville Trésor on the streets of N.Y.C. this week. Taking design cues from the original 1940s Trésors, the watch features an elegant 40 mm steel case, a domed silvery dial, white-gold accents, and a date window at six o’clock. The timepiece is powered by an in-house manual movement (Caliber 8910) that is resistant to magnetic fields reaching up to 15,000 gauss and offers 72 hours of power reserve. The wrist candy is currently unavailable but usually retails for $7,100.

Isaac Powell may be relatively new to the red carpet, but he is already dressing his wrist right. The actor and singer wore a stylish TAG Heuer Carrera Date to the premiere event of The Franchise in L.A. on Tuesday. Released in 2022, this modern riff on the 1960s Carrera features a 39 mm steel case, a flashy silver sunray dial, and a black alligator strap. The in-house Caliber 5, which can be appreciated via the sapphire caseback, offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. The entry-level piece costs a relatively modest $3,050.

Carmelo Anthony paid horological homage to another NBA star while watching the Las Vegas Aces play the New York Liberty on Tuesday. The former forward showed off a limited-edition Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore that the Swiss watchmaker designed in partnership with LeBron James as he sat courtside at the game. The special edition was released in 2013 in honor of the Royal Oak Offshore’s 20th anniversary. The King reportedly wanted a timepiece he could wear with either a tuxedo or casual outfit, so he opted for a glitzy pink-gold case, a contrasting titanium bezel, and a subtle gray strap. The grande tapisserie dial is also gray and adorned with pink-gold Arabic numerals and silver subdials. As only 600 pieces were made, the watch costs upwards of $50,000 on the secondary market.
