21 Famous People Who Called Out Donald Trump And Did NOT Hold Back

Recently, I rounded up celebrities who've spoken out against Kamala Harris. With the election just over a month away, I thought it'd be interesting to see the opposite: famous people who've called out Donald Trump.

The Trump administration asked Twitter (now called X) to remove Chrissy's tweet because it was a "derogatory statement directed towards the president." Thankfully, the tweet still lives.

2.John Legend

During a 2017 interview with the Guardian, the singer said, "Trump is an embarrassment to the country." He continued, saying that Trump is usually "projecting" when he criticizes something. "He calls people liars because he is a liar. He talks about the entertainment business because he rose through the entertainment business. He talks about people being corrupt because he is corrupt. He talks about people being violent because he encourages violence."

3.Robert De Niro

The actor has feuded with the former president for years. On last week's episode of Who's Talking to Chris Wallace?, Robert said, "He’s a jerk, an idiot. Who wants to meet a clown like that?" He continued, "We need somebody with the right intentions. This guy does not have the right intentions, and everybody knows that. It's insanity. Period."

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Miley wrote, "Trump can't stop won't stop saying stupid ass sexist shit!!!! Comparing two women! Are you fucking kidding! We will not allow you to destroy everything we have overcome as women! I feel as though we are stronger than ever as a unit... it's absolute insanity that this has gone on this long and far! After a 2017 Trump rally, the actor shared her thoughts in an Instagram post. In 2020, Trump often called COVID the "Chinese Virus." This kind of rhetoric sparked a widespread increase in violence and hatred for Asian Americans. On Lana's Instagram story, she wrote, "You have no idea the ramifications your racist words & actions have on the Asian American community. You simply cannot even fathom the danger you are putting our community in. How dare you."

In 2020, the TV star gave his own "LGBTQ State of the Union" hours before Trump's. "Our nation is facing one of the biggest crises of my lifetime. So far our nation has survived the first term of Donald Trump, but who's to say what another term would do to this country, to democracy and, truly, to the entire world?" he asked. Even though Trump "painted himself as a friend to the LGBTQ community," Billy said the politician revealed "his true colors at every malicious turn" through policies like Trump's anti-trans military ban.

In 2017, Trump seemingly encouraged police to rough up people during arrests — though spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders later said it was a joke. Chris tweeted, "You reckless moron. Do you have any idea what you’re encouraging? You think a 'joke' makes it ok?? ZERO societal awareness and understanding."

The comedian has feuded with Trump for decades, going as far back as 2006. As a cohost of The View, she would sometimes criticize him on the show, while he would demean her on Twitter. During the 2015 Republican presidential primary debate, Trump was asked about calling women "fat pigs," "dogs," "slobs," and "disgusting animals." He shocked the nation when he responded, "Only Rosie O'Donnell."

Earlier this year, Rosie made a $10,000 bet that Trump would face convictions during his falsified records trial (a court found him guilty of all 34 charges the following month). During an interview on Cuomo, she said, "He's a cruel, criminal, and mentally unstable man. I think he's the worst thing that ever happened to the United States. His cruelty knows no bounds. When he's upset and humiliated and embarrassed, he has no control, and he goes apeshit."

That’s a trade-off I’d do."

During a 2016 interview with Australian publication news.com.au, the actor called support for Trump "collective insanity," especially considering the politician's misogynistic comments. Will continued, "For a man to be able to publicly refer to a woman as a fat pig, that makes me teary. And for people to applaud, that is absolutely fucking insanity to me. My grandmother would have smacked my teeth out of my head if I had referred to a woman as a fat pig. And I cannot understand how people can clap for that... If one of my sons — I am getting furious just thinking about it — if one of my sons said that in a public place, they couldn’t even live in my house anymore."

This year, Kristen commented on the whole thing during an interview with Rolling Stone. "Of course, he had to weigh in on my tarring and feathering. It’s like, 'What is this 20-year-old who has no idea about life doing to this man?' He’s such a little baby... Fuck you, bitch!"

Last year, the actor told Rolling Stone who Trump reminds him of. "When I see Trump, I see the same rednecks I saw when I was growing up who called me [the n-word] and tried to keep me in my place. That’s what the Republican Party is to me. They’re doing it to young people, gay people. They don’t care who you are. If you’re not them, you’re the enemy."

This year, the comedian appeared on an episode of Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? and discussed how much Trump's immigrant rhetoric bothers him, saying, "I just cannot allow somebody to demonize a certain group of people." When asked about the upcoming election, George said, "I’m surprised that somebody can be so racially out with their views targeted toward people, you know, tainting the blood and all these things are very reminiscent of Nazi Germany... I don’t think of him much as a president, and I think less of him as a man."

"So Americans have a choice to make. Who do we trust to fight for us?"

In 2016, the head of the Catholic Church criticized Trump's obsession with the wall along the US–Mexico border. "A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not of building bridges, is not Christian. This is not the gospel," the pope said.
