Yahoo Lifestyle '1923' Fans Are on the Edge of Their Seats Thanks to Epic Trailer
The countdown to the 1923 season 2 premiere is on. With just a few weeks left until the highly-anticipated event, we can’t help but wonder how the story will unfold between Spencer (Brandon Sklenar), Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer), and the Dutton family as a whole. Fortunately for us, the official season 2 trailer is finally here, so, at long last, we have a hint.
With a caption that starts with “Defend or Die,” it’s hard not to brace ourselves for some seriously captivating Dutton drama, but then again, that’s what 1923—and the Yellowstone universe—is all about. (Needn’t we remind you of Spencer and Alex’s run-in with the lions in season 1.)
The trailer kicks off with Banner Creighton (Jerome Flynn) discussing Spencer’s impending return, noting that he’s “a war hero and a stone killer.” The camera then cuts to Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton) detailing his plans to transform Montana into “a playground for the elite.” While looking and sounding as dastardly as ever, he admits his intentions to “destroy everything they’ve fought for.” Meanwhile, Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) fiercely says that a war isn’t preventable, suggesting that he and his family are prepared to fight tooth and nail for their land. The camera then pans to Spencer, looking defeated yet determined en route to Montana. “Family needs me,” he reveals. Not long after, Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren) comes on screen. “This is a hard winter—I pray Spencer can get here.”
While the trailer continues on, it’s that sentiment that fans are hoping for. “I can’t wait for Spencer and Alex to arrive in Montana! This will have me on the edge of my seat,” one fan commented. “His return to Montana is going to be epic,” someone else remarked. “Literally haven’t been this excited since OG GOT,” another fan exclaimed. “That trailer was more exciting and thrilling than the whole final season of Yellowstone,” someone else commented.
Meanwhile, some fans are worried that, based on the trailer, it’s going to take all seven episodes for Spencer and Alex to reunite. “If it takes Spencer all season to get home and Alexandra all season to get to him I'll cry,” one fan commented. And, honestly, same!
1923 Season 2 premieres on Sunday, February 23.
