The 25 best new fragrances that made the cut for spring and beyond
Spring is officially upon us (hurrah!), and with it comes a welcome slew of new fragrance launches. As we slip off the heavy coats in favour of lightweight trenches and chic flats, it's time to give our scent wardrobes a little switch-up, too.
If winter delivered showstopping ouds, perfumers are embracing clear blue skies and nature-inspired scents for the sunnier months. Fruity fragrances have never been so popular, with lychees, strawberries and cherries taking centre stage – be it in the form of crisp green compositions or delightfully gourmand accords. Rose perfumes are also back, this time with plenty of freshness and light to keep them feeling modern, cool and breezy. On stifling hot days, radiant-musky skin scents feel clean without overwhelming the senses.
How to improve the longevity of your perfume
Fragrance molecules sit better on exfoliated, well-hydrated skin (read: skin that doesn't flake, especially when the weather is drier). Incorporating regular exfoliation in the shower might help with the longevity of your perfume. The good old trick of applying a small amount of scent-less Vaseline (or body cream) on the skin before spritzing your perfume has worked wonders for this beauty editor, too, as it helps the perfume molecules to 'hang on' to the area.
Rather than just focusing on your wrists and neck, you can also spritz on the crook of your arm (it's less likely to be exposed to water throughout the day) and 'marinate' your clothes in your fragrance: just be careful that the formula doesn't stain or damage the fabric. As a final cherry on top, spritz your scent onto a hairbrush and run it through the lengths so it emits a waft of gentle perfume in your wake.
Ahead, the best new spring perfumes to try
Glossier You Fleur EDP
The latest addition to the Glossier You family might just be the most refined yet. The signature musky base is present and correct but Fleur isn't just a straightforward floral scent on top of this. Rather, it captures the velvety feel of soft petals. It's a pastel bouquet that has fluffy, peachy tones of osmanthus and fuzzy apricot skin; this scent is a feeling as much as a smell. A slightly salty top note brings that New York edge to this otherwise pretty composition.
Key notes: Osmanthus, apricot skin, ambrox
Jo Malone London Beach Blossom Cologne
It's 6pm on a tropical island and you've just showered the sand and sea off your skin. Now, you're popping on some after-sun, and heading out for dinner as the sun sets. Such is the mood of Beach Blossom. There's a sense of nostalgia from the coconutty, sunscreen hints while gentle mint creates a breezy feel to keep it from smelling too cloyingly sweet. One to reach for whenever you need an escape.
Key notes: Coconut water, mint, tonka bean
Tom Ford Rose Exposed EDP
Think black-tinged, burgundy roses with dark thorns rather than pretty soft pink blooms. A combination of rose essence and concentrate to create an impressively long-lasting wear while leathery notes temper any syrupy sweetness. An offbeat, rugged rose scent for the well-dressed go-getter.
Key notes: Rose essence, leather, woods
Nest Santa Barbara Strawberry Perfume Oil
Next to lychees and cherries, strawberries have never been more popular in perfumery. Given that so many products for children are scented with strawberries, its juicy sweetness never fails to make us feel nostalgic. This one by Nest smells like fully-ripened berries and sunshine, but it's light enough to feel youthful – not juvenile.
Key notes: Strawberry, raspberry, solar woods
Creed Eladaria Eau de Parfum
Eladaria spotlights the syrupy side of rose with generous splashes of vanilla, while succulent citruses give the composition an uplifting brightness to keep it from sitting heavily on the skin. It's inspired by a garden shrouded in morning mist, so expect an ethereal, romantic feel to this bouquet. A strong contender for a wedding perfume, too.
Key notes: Mandarin, rose, vanilla
Astier de Villatte Ambre Liquide Perfume
Some fragrances just feel as though they belonged in a bygone era, in another realm filled with mystery and magic. This is one of them. Ambre Liquide is inspired by a medieval potion created in 1348 originally used to fight the plague and ward off evil.
This modern interpretation by perfumer Dominique Ropion is composed with a generous dose of rich amber (as the name suggests), frankincense, and resinous myrrh. A little goes a long way, and while it might not keep unhappy spirits at bay, it'll no doubt grant you a cloak of confidence. A different kind of magic, but magical nonetheless.
Key notes: Amber, myrrh, frankincense
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Rosa Verde EDT
Speaking to Bazaar UK, perfumer Delphine Jelk tells us how Rosa Verde is inspired by the ritual of taking care of one's skin and the calm, sensorial appeal of face creams. In fact, there is a milky, complexion tonic in Guerlain's archive that informed Rosa Verde.
This soothing spritz also features a new cucumber accord that mirrors the real thing and lends a refreshing, airy feel to the rose petals while musks and soft iris bring a comforting vibe. Spritz on a hot day to take the temperatures down or snuggle up with it on cool mornings.
Key notes: Cucumber, rose, mint, iris
Diptyque Orpheon EDP Limited Edition
Back in the sixties, there was a jazzy bar in the Saint-Germain quarter of Paris, right opposite Diptyque's flagship store. It was boozy, smoky and cool, with woody interiors, and was frequented by the city's creative spirits, including the founders of Diptyque. The bar is no longer around, but the essence of it is bottled into Orphéon, a powdery, warm composition of cedar, delicious tonka bean and juniper berries. For 2025, the bottle is updated with a striking flash of navy blue.
Key notes: Cedar, tonka bean, juniper berries
Byredo Blanche Absolu de Parfum
Blanche has managed to bottle the scent of freshly-laundered, impeccably pressed, starched white linen sheets. It wears easily on skin, doesn't overstimulate the senses, and is just a purely clean, non-obstructive scent, which is sometimes all that's needed to put you in a good mood. It's a great bedtime smell too, especially after a shower. The Absolute version is slightly amped up and lingers a little longer than the original.
Key notes: Aldehydes, violets, musks
Balmain Paris Blanc Galaxie EDP
The latest addition to Balmain's fragrance family sought inspiration from the spring equinox and the energy it brings. If you've been feeling a little uncertain or fatigued after months of winter, this joyous citrusy spritz will reinvigorate the sense and leave you with a renewed sense of optimism.
Key notes: Bergamot, magnolia, cardamom
Parfums de Marly Valaya Exclusif EDP
This French perfume house knows its way around delectable gourmands. Valaya Exclusif sees almonds tossed in soft powdered sugar and laced with "transparent white flowers", a special accord that interprets luxurious florals through a luminous, airy lens to keep the composition feeling cool.
Key notes: Almonds, orange blossoms, sandalwood
Cult Gaia Noor EDP
Inspired by the Farsi word for "light", Noor beautifully captures the heat of the sun. It's a warm jaunt through the desert at sunset, followed by time spent in bustling markets where the scent of spices mingle. Unlike typically beachy scents, there isn't quite the sunscreen creaminess here but rather, sensuous woody undertones that come from vetiver and a blast of warmth from smoky black pepper. Sun-dried lavender and rosy geraniums add a floral balance.
Key notes: Black pepper, vetiver, geranium
Le Labo Eucalyptus 20 EDP
If your idea of bliss is being in the verdant outdoors and strolling through the woodlands, this is a spritz that will bring the outside in. It's a breath of cool, bracing air thanks to restorative eucalyptus and grounding woods.
Key notes: Eucalyptus, cedarwood, labdanum
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Kurky EDP
Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian reflects on the joys of his childhood days for this spring release. Kurky (Kurkdjian's nickname and a clever play on "quirky") is lighthearted, fun, and paints an image of picnics in the Tuileries Gardens overlooking the famous horse carousel, surrounded by flowers in bloom. It's airy and sunlit, with a cheering "tutti fruitti" accord and musks. Kurkdjian lends a refined touch to every composition so the finish here is still elevated and elegant, rather than tooth-achingly sweet.
Key notes: Tutti fruitti accord, musks

Molton Brown Bluebell & Wild Strawberry EDP
Perfumer Veronique Nyberg's take on juicy strawberries is inspired by the lush English countryside, where bright bluebells and crisp green leaves are crushed underfoot. It's a fresh, easy-to-wear spritz that captures the lightness of spring.
Key notes: Violet leaf, bergamot, sandalwood
Diem Love Tangle EDP
UK-made fragrance brand Diem is re-thinking the way we shop for fragrance by embracing AI technology. The 10ml vials can be refilled into a handy travel case. Love Tangle is a crisp composition of leafy blackcurrants and prickly briar rose.

Juliette Has A Gun Miami Shake EDP
This is an unapologetic, rip-roaring good time spent in a Miami beach villa with your best girlfriends. Inspired by fluffy whipped cream and glazed strawberries, Miami Shake is decadently sweet; those with a penchant for gourmands will no doubt enjoy just how indulgent and happy-making this is.
Key notes: Wild strawberries, ice cream cones, whipped cream
Ellis Brooklyn Dear Sky EDP
Strawberry continues to be a popular note for spring. In Dear Sky (named after the founder's daughter), watery honeydew melon accord brings out the breezy, fresh side of strawberry leaves. There's a clean-shampoo, fluttery feel to Dear Sky that feels especially welcoming during stifling, warm days.
Key notes: Strawberry leaves, honeydew melons, white peonies
Hermès Terre d'Hermès EDP Intense
Terre d'Hermès is the scent du jour for many a beauty editor's other half or, indeed, for herself thanks to its elegant citrus composition. This Intense version dials up the heat with an unexpected lava stone accord, charred woods and citrusy bergamot.
Key notes: Bergamots, woods
Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDP Intense
For Her's signature musky, powdery facets are very much present but this time with a more vibrant touch of succulent peach and soft florals, giving the fragrance an opulent, gourmand feel. The impressive sillage will no doubt beckon compliments.
Key notes: Peaches, musks, vanilla
Maison Crivelli Safran Secret Extrait de Parfum
If it's a long-lasting scent you're after, Maison Crivelli's extraits are unmatched as they use a high 30% concentration of perfume. Safran Secret captures the allure of foggy saffron fields, with plenty of heat and warmth from spice and woods.
Key notes: Saffron
Kilian Angels' Share Paradis EDP
Angels' Share Paradis is a cocktail-fuelled night out in the city, wearing your finest little black dress. It's opulent and fizzy, with plush tonka beans to bring a smoothness to the jammy rose notes alongside splashes of cognac.
Key notes: Cognac, praline, tonka bean
DS & Durga Big Sur Eucalyptus EDP
"For fans of fragrances that seek to capture the great outdoors, Big Sur Eucalyptus is a reinvigorating tonic for the nature-starved city-dweller. A woody heart is cut through with the clean, aromatic essence of eucalyptus, tantalising the wearer with a breeze of herbal cypress, rosemary, and the faintest hint of spice, offering a scent that transports you to the sea-misted treeline of America's West Coast," Hannah Thompson, fashion and beauty multiplatform writer
Key notes: Eucalyptus, rosemary, spice
Dior Miss Dior EDP Mini Miss Solid Perfume
Looks like a solid, translucent jelly, smells like a bouquet of sweet pastel pink roses. This neat, travel-friendly fragrance is alcohol-free and made from rose wax. It's easy to apply on the go, and also performs as a scent 'primer' when layered under a misting of perfume. The scent sits closely on the skin, so if you are generally more sensitive to generous sprays of fragrance, this is a great option to try – just be careful to not mistake it for a lip balm.
Key notes: Peony, rose, sandalwood
Fragrance du Bois Sirène extrait de parfum
This is a cherry fragrance full of contrasts. "For Sirène, I paired it [cherry] with pink peppercorn for a vibrant opening, and incense and oud for a little spice, depth and grounding in the base," says its perfumer Nanako Ogi. "This interplay creates a fragrance that feels feminine yet strong, balancing light and dark in a truly mesmerising way.” We wholeheartedly agree.
Key notes: Cherry, pink pepper, oud, incense
