“1000-Lb. Best Friends”’ Tina Beal In Tears Ahead of Weight Loss Surgery: ‘What If I Don’t Wake Up’ (Exclusive)

“It's just really emotional," she says in PEOPLE's exclusive clip of '1000-Lb. Best Friends'

Tina Beal’s anxiety is high ahead of weight loss surgery.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive clip from Tuesday’s episode of 1000-Lb. Best Friends, the newcomer is preparing for bariatric surgery and feeling emotional before heading to the hospital.

“Surgery's at 10 and they want me there at 8:00 because they got to prep me with the IV,” she tells her husband Matt, adding that her anxiety level is at a 10.

“I hope they give you something to sedate you before that,” Matt says, getting emotional. “If anything happens to you, I don’t know what I would do. You’re all I got.”

“Tina means the world to me. And I don't know if she knows it, but that's how it is,” he continues in a confessional. “You know, I'm trying to be brave for her, but inside I am scared. I know she needs surgery, but I'm just concerned about the side effects. Every surgery seems to have them.”

Beal says she’s a “bundle of nerves” and tells Matt to make sure that he waits at the hospital for her. “I'm going to be right there. Don't worry,” he insists.

“I'm doing this because I want to feel better about myself. I want to be comfortable in my body and live,” she says in a confessional.

“I'm just thinking about, oh my God, what if I don't wake up after surgery and leaving everybody behind. Matt’s gonna be alone. The dogs will be alone. And I didn't get to kiss my mom goodbye this morning. All that,” she adds. “It's just really emotional, you know.”

In the clip, Beal admits she can't wait to get the surgery over with and starts panicking in the elevator as Matt tries to calm her down.

“Oh my God, I'm so scared. It’s getting closer,” she says as she walks into the hospital.

The new episode of 1,000-Lb. Best Friends airs Tuesday, November 19 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC and discovery+.
