The 10 Most Exciting Yacht Debuts at This Year’s Boot Düsseldorf

Running from January 18 to January 26, boot Düsseldorf officially kicked off the international boat-show circuit.  The world’s largest indoor boat and watersports show is held in 16 exhibit halls with 1,500 exhibitors. According to organizers, the event should attract about 215,000 visitors.

Because it’s indoors, the show doesn’t have superyachts like Monaco, Fort Lauderdale, or Miami. But boot Düsseldorf does attract both mainstream and also many smaller European yacht builders with interesting designs that may not make it to the U.S., at least not until they’re discovered by larger distributors.

We looked through this year’s event, and chose the best new yacht debuts—most are world launches, though some are European. Either way, the group is interesting not just because of length, but because of unusual hull shapes or luxe features. One trend seems to be more compact boats with larger yacht features—such as foldout sides of the cockpit, lounges on the bow, and big for internal light.

Here are 10 debuts.

Riva Super Iseo

This new Riva promises to be the most beautiful boat in Düsseldorf, with the same gorgeous lines and tumblehome as Rivas of the 1960s. The Super Iseo replaces the smaller Iseo, which entered the lineup in 2011. Last year, Riva announced the E-Iseo, the electric version. The Super Iseo, powered by a 300 hp Volvo Penta D4, will have a 27-foot length. The newest Riva has a helm and companion seats, a rear U-shaped lounge, and a long sunpad over the engine, just in front of the beautiful teak swim platform. The chrome fixtures across the yacht, along with stainless pop-up cleats and beautiful paint, point to its luxe origins. Details such as a fold-out mahogany table cockpit and the highly crafted wood-clad interior confirm it will be heir not only to the Iseo throne, but also the new king of Riva.

Princess F58

This new Princess flybridge cruiser replaces the U.K. brand’s popular F55 with an extra 20 inches of hull length. But new features like the dedicated Seabob tender garage, hydraulic swim platform, and rear barbecue are what will really grab a Princess lovers’ attention. The forward lounge is also generously spaced as is the low-riding flybridge—which is larger than the F55, with an open rear area that includes a lounge, table, and wetbar, and forward twin-seat helm, also surrounded by lounges. The salon includes a rear galley, sizable dining area, and separate social area behind the helm. There are large windows throughout. Belowdecks are three cabins, including an owner’s suites with ensuite and a walk-in wardrobe—a true differentiator for this size of boat.

Sanlorenzo SP92

Having made its Italian premier at the Genoa show, the new SP92 will make its European debut in Düsseldorf. The 92-footer is the second in Sanlorenzo’s “Smart Performance” series, after the SP110 that made its debut in 2023. The boat has a hull designed for running at both fast and fuel-efficient displacement speeds, along with a configurable interior with three and four stateroom options. The interior is tiered, with a lower salon at the rear entrance and a second larger salon upstairs. This main salon features loose furniture to enhance the sense of space and a large door on the port side to bolster its natural light and openness. The three-stateroom version has a third privacy salon on the lower level instead of a cabin, with a grand stairway leading down to it. The exterior features a large open cockpit for socializing and access to the water, along with a hidden tender garage. Forward is a double-size open bow area, with separate lounges and sun pads. Like the larger SP110, this is a breakthrough design that works on multiple levels.

The latest stylish cruiser Solaris is designed for fast, smooth running in rough seas, with good navigation in both planing and displacement modes. Multiple choices of Volvo’s IPS system deliver speeds, depending on engine choice, from 27 to 36 knots. The 60-footer offers beautiful Italian styling in the upper salon. It comes with the option of three staterooms and a lounge or two full-beam owner’s cabins and a third guest stateroom without the lounge. Fit and finish is excellent.

XO Explr 44

The Finnish builder’s stealth-looking cruiser, with outboard power, will trade the military gray exterior for a Champagne-colored hull at Düsseldorf. It will be powered by triple Mercury 400 hp V10 Verado outboards for a highly impressive top end of 57 mph. The aluminum hull is designed for offshore running, but the walkaround styling, dinette, and lounge at the stern means it a dayboat at heart. Raised areas on both the bow and stern allow for more headroom in the cabins below. The lower deck also includes a large salon, two heads, and an unexpectedly cool feature: a large one-piece window that provides light down into the stern area.

The two-stateroom 435 GTI (Grand Touring Icon) is a somewhat radical departure from the Polish builder‘s 435 GTO, thanks to the center section being a glass-enclosed area to button up in rain or while running flat out. While the massive front windshield has an odd-duck look, it allows light in and offers exceptional views. The 435’s open bow and foldout stern, both with generous lounge seating, turn it in an all-weather cruiser.

Maxim 43

The two-cabin Maxim 43 is a fascinating design from Barcelona. The day cruiser’s helm is way forward, leaving about three-quarters of the space open. That means a massive transom with fold-down sides and open stern—ideal for water sports or carrying a tender. The yard’s 43 comes in the Comfort inboard or Race outboard versions. Both will push the boat to about 52 mph. The yard specializes in personalizing its boats for owners.

Aquador 400HT

This 40-foot hard top from Scandinavia’s Nimbus Group is the new flagship in the Aquador line, with raised hull sides and narrow side decks with a protected buttoned-down look. But the design adds to extra interior space belowdecks. As a result, the three double cabins and forward salon feel much larger than a typical cruiser this size. The Aquador flagship even has day head. Up top, there are three tiers of seating on the boat’s port side, including both cockpit and stern, and a pullout dinette that does double duty as an afternoon berth. The foredeck also has an island lounge. The 400HT is available with both inboard and outboard power.

Sunseeker 68 Manhattan

This latest version of Sunseeker’s 68 Manhattan at Düsseldorf isn’t a brand-new boat, but the updates get it within range. The flybridge has a new layout, with a much-improved seating arrangement and new upholstery. It also has a black hardtop rather than vanilla-white for an edge, with new, sleeker side moldings on the rear of the flybridge. Design Unlimited created new styling for the interior, available in three or four-cabin layouts. The three-cabin version has an optional private staircase to the owner’s full-beam suite.

Virtue V10 Cabin

One of the best things about the Düsseldorf show is seeing brands that would not be at U.S. boat shows. Virtue’s new V10 Cabin is a 32-foot sport boat with a double stepped hull, foldout transom, and blistering top end of 62 mph. It has an open bow with seating and open transom, but the hardtop weatherproofs the center section when needed. The cabin has two berths for overnighting. This Polish boat, which comes in open versions, is like a waterborne Swiss Army Knife with all the bells and whistles in a compact package.
