WHO Wins The Maggies Cover of the Year

For the second consecutive year, WHO magazine has triumphed at the annual Maggie Awards, taking home the prestigious Cover of the Year. Our Sexiest People cover (Nov. 25, 2013) took the crown in a stellar field of 60 shortlisted entries.

Featuring the celebrity judges of TV's The X Factor photographed in bed in an irreverent shoot, the cover won over publishing luminaries and the public alike.

"Behind WHO's enduring popularity is a unique blend of quality, high-impact art direction and its strong editorial integrity," said Mary Ann Azer, executive director of the Magazine Publishers of Australia association.

"This year's winning cover caught our eye and the attention of the voters with a cheeky, fun, celebrity-packed concept that was executed brilliantly."

Added WHO editor Nicky Briger: "Taking a tongue-in-cheek approach to what's sexy paid off for us. It shows that we're not afraid to reinvent and evolve."
