1. What motivates you most in your work?

Helping people understand and benefit from what is known about healthy human functioning. Psychologists have been studying human experience for more than 100 years but it's only in the past 10 to15 years that they've been able to make this knowledge more user-friendly. I am motivated to continue this trend.

2. What does being healthy mean to you?

I see health in holistic terms. For me it includes not only maintaining good physical health, but also balancing the cognitive, emotional and spiritual aspects of human experience.

3. What one thing would you like to have more of in your day?

I would like my wife and I to be paid to spend time with our children full-time. I am constantly amazed by what we learn from each other, how much fun it is and the things they help me to see more clearly.

4. What is your wellbeing wish for Australian women 40+?

That they find the strength to be daring and courageous. My mother first went to university at 43, after raising five children. She had the courage to see and pursue a new career for herself—one that has given her great satisfaction. She saw a possibility and had the guts to go after it—what more can I say!?

5. What is it that excites you about being a part of the Prevention team?

I'm excited about what the magazine stands for and the opportunity it gives me to communicate with readers about things that I think are important.
