In a new interview with The New York Times Magazine, Anne Hathaway has admitted she has finally quit her 'disgusting' habit: smoking.

"I've quit, I got hooked for a few years," the 32-year-old told the magazine.

"I had a four-year break, and then actually when I was producing Song One, I started smoking again," she admitted of the upcoming drama.

"It’s easy to romanticize it when you haven’t done it in a while, but it’s actually pretty disgusting."

On the topic of giving things up, the Les Miserables star was also asked about her New Year's resolution.

"I have one, but I don’t want to mention it because it’s scaring me," the actress said.

"And it has nothing to do with pregnancy. But it’s not because of a problem. It’s just because why not: I’m going to really prioritise my health this year and not drink, at least not in January. I want to take a month off."

As for what advice she has for Neil Patrick Harris who will be hosting this year's Oscars, after her disastrous turn in the role alongside James Franco in 2011?

"Do the opposite of what I did, and you’ll be fine."
