Yahoo Lifestyle Martha Stewart Calls Blake Lively's Website 'Stupid'
Blake Lively has faced some tough criticism since launching her new lifestyle website, Preserve.com.
The 25-year old former Gossip Girl star has been working away on the project for months, but it seems not everyone is a fan, least of all Martha Stewart.
The lifestyle guru, who helped plan Lively's wedding, said today it was "stupid" the actress had chosen to launch a website.
"Let her try," commented Stewart. ''I don't mean that facetiously! I mean, it's stupid, she could be an actress! Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress? I just did a movie yesterday, though - I can't even tell you about it - but I want to be Blake Lively."
Stewart and Lively reportedly became friends after Blake moved into Martha's New York area.
"She moved into my neighbourhood a couple of years ago with Ryan - before they got married, they bought a house right around the corner from my house," Stewart explained. "And they started to come over, not to borrow sugar, but just as friends."
Martha added she was surprised at how shy Blake was, considering she played the role of Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl.
"But she's a baker and a homemaker and now she's starting her own blog..."
As for Lively, she's the first to defend Stewart.
"I'm a great admirer of any woman in a position of power, like Martha Stewart or Oprah, who gets burned because they have paved the path for so many other women who are doing something they believe in."
