Rosemount Australian Fashion Week 2011: Zimmermann

Zimmermann kicked off the first of 57 fashion shows this week, with designers Nicky and Simone Zimmermann showing their spring/summer 2011/12 collection at the Classic Bottleshop in North Sydney.

Guests including Kate Waterhouse and fashion blogger Susie Bubble sat front row at a show that left the fashion set longing for summer days again.

It seems the longer hem is back, with Zimmermann presenting a series of 70s inspired skirts and dresses. Models including Julia Nobis, Myf Shepherd and Alice Burdeu strutted the t-shaped catwalk in whites, florals and pastels made of woven silks, linen and delicate cottons that evoked an ethereal, romantic feel.

Standouts from the Zimmermann Spring/Summer 2011 collection included white leggings made entirely of lace, neutral floor-length dresses with cutouts, a mustard leather skirt and sheer floral shirts.

A simple gold eye and a low-slung ponytail complemented the clean lines of the clothes.
