New Mulberry Campaign Inspired By “Where The Wild Things Are”

Mulberry’s highly anticipated autumn/winter 2012 campaign has just been released, revealing a series of theatrical images set in an enchanted forest.

Shot by British photographer Tim Walker and modelled by Mulberry favourite Lindsay Wixon, the campaign takes the viewer back to childhood immediately via the large, furry animals in the background inspired by the movie ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. But the collection itself is nothing short of sophisticated, with rich textures and layered silhouettes offset by moody hues.

“The campaign shoot, deep in the woods, surrounded by monsters and the doll-like Lindsey Wixson, was a magical experience that perfectly brought our Autumn Winter season to life,” commented Mulberry Brand Director, Georgia Fendley, who added that working with Walker was like being a part of the fairytale.

"Tim’s work is like a series of fairytales, single images with a strong, rich narrative and just the right mix of charm, romance and darkness,” she explained.

The original idea for the campaign was the brainchild of Mulberry's creative director Emma Hill, who wanted to transport the viewer into a fantasy world.

“The campaign is an interpretation of dreams and fears,” explained the campaign’s Art Director Ronnie Cooke Newhouse; “it’s very Mulberry – always iconic, ironic and a little bit naughty.”
