Olivia Palermo Launches Fashion Website

Fashionista Olivia Palermo has officially launched her own fashion, accessories and lifestyle website, oliviapalermo.com.

Palermo, who currently updates the site with her personal musings a few times a week in addition to writing a monthly editor’s letter, is also planning to use the site as a launching pad for her upcoming clothing line.

For the times she can be found swanning down the red carpet or sitting front row at Fashion Week, she's hired a team of writers to cover the site, including a former ELLE staffer.

"Focusing on the details, my editorial staff will take you on the task of turning jeans and a tee into a red-carpet worthy look on a daily basis," writes Palermo. "In this digital age where information – and fashion – moves faster each season, I hope that you will continue on this journey with me."

Palermo says she plans to launch her clothing line once the website starts to garner a following.

How To Make A Living From Blogging

"I want to build my fashion company the proper way, in time. I can wait a little bit," she explained. "But once I settle down a bit more and create a line it will most likely be evening wear."

But Palermo won't be stopping there though, telling fashionista.com that with the rise of e-commerce, she'll also help bolster other designer profiles via her site.

"With the rise in e-commerce, I can give young designers even more of an advantage [when I feature them on my site]," Palermo said. "We'll put a lot of young emerging designers on the site because that's important to me."

New York Magazine, which compared oliviapalermo.com to Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP, said the site's only real failing (besides a spellcheck) is that it needs more pictures of Palermo.

"Because if Palermo is good at anything, it is getting dressed," said the magazine.
