Andrej Pejic On FHM's Sexiest Women List

Although Andrej Pejic has just been named US FHM's 98th Sexiest Woman by its readers, writers of the magazine have come under fire for making derogatory comments about Pejic's gender.

Referring to Pejic as a "gender bender", FHM commented underneath Pejic's picture that he had "jumped the gun in hoping he might one day be signed as a Victoria's Secret Model (pass the sick bucket)."

Horrified readers are in outrage over the comments, which appear in the already published US version of the magazine, but have since been pulled from the website.

FHM blamed a lack of sub-editing on the comments, saying, "regrettably the copy accompanying Andrej's online entry wasn't subbed prior to going live. Once we realised, we removed it immediately and apologised for any offence caused. FHM has spoken to the individual concerned and taken steps to ensure this can never happen again."

The Australian Editor of FHM, Guy Mosel, reportedly told press that US FHM "deserve the scrutiny".

"I was appalled by the language used in the profile," commented Mosel.

The issue of gender discrimination came under fire in the US just last month when Barnes and Noble and Borders bookstores censored a topless magazine cover of Pejic, saying he "looked too female".
