Despite his current status as one of the world's richest people, it seems Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is yet to buy himself a new wardrobe.

The self-confessed "nerd" was recently voted 'Worst Dressed' by American GQ, topping a list that includes Bill Gates and Steve Jobs of Apple Inc.

Facebook: The Top 5 Reasons You Might Be Unfriended

"Nerds run the world", explained GQ. "But with their notoriously horrid fashion choices, some dotcom entrepreneurs could use a style IQ boost. While their tech innovations deserve kudos, their outfits are one giant leap back for mankind."

Calling Zuckerberg "the worst dressed man in all of Silicon Valley" GQ went on to say, "Oblivious to the fact that jeans and ties come in skinny sizes — or that suits exist — the father of Facebook (and we do mean father) loves to recycle the fresh-from-Stats-class look."

But Zuckerberg can take comfort in the fact that GQ isn't one to shame and run – editor Sean Fennessey also offered some styling tips for the Facebook wunderkid, including the need for Zuckerberg to start "tailoring" his looks.

"It's not necessarily the casual nature of his look - wealth doesn't insist on suits and opulence. Look where that got the Winklevoss twins.

Facebook Predicts Break Up Season

"It's the fit and the form that put him at the top of our list. The man needs to start tailoring. (He) has an estimated worth close $18 billion. He could buy Savile Row if he wanted."

Do you agree? Should Zuckerberg spend some money on his wardrobe, or does he have better things to worry about?

He appears to be untroubled by the expectations of the fashion world. The natural, boyish look is nice. I hope they both remain connected to the real world and use their wealth for doing good.

'Worst dressed'? He looks exactly like most young men in Western countries. Skinny jeans are almost always unflattering and they reduce blood flow to a few essential male body parts. What I'm a bit over is the skinny jeans, untucked shirt, big blazer and trilby hat hipster look- can we have something new please?

He dresses to please himself, he does not need some nerdy fashion guru telling him what he should wear. IF he did dress up in $10,000 of clothing, the comments then would be 'he is using his money to show off what he can purchase'. The poor guy is wrong which ever way he goes, personally if I were him I would do exactly the same, the difference for me is; she who must be obeyed would say 'YOU ARE NOT GOING OUT DRESSED LIKE THAT'.

Whats wrong with casual ? if he's comfortable like that good on him. I would be the same T-shirt & shorts or jeans. Hey he's made his money' he can do what he likes. Maybe once in a blue moon wear a suite. Jason Heal.

Yes, he's a nerd. Yes, he's worst-dressed too. But are you smarter than him in terms of making money?
