Naked Space has launched a new class for intermediate level male students in the practice of Hatha Yoga; the difference from usual classes being that they are required to go naked.

The classes, which are to be held at a private studio at South Park Slope in Brooklyn, is strictly men-only and assures participants of individual attention with the class size being no greater than 8 students and costing $20 per class.

While many would question the necessity of being naked for a yoga class, the studio's website says, "The instruction and practice of yoga without clothes reveals a wealth of information about the alignment of both teacher and student, which is otherwise hidden from view. The naked practice also fosters commonality and community, which can lead to a deeply supportive experience for everyone involved."

The studio was founded by Michael Gates (whose profile states he "has been running around naked since he was a boy") in 2005, and invites women to join other classes offered by the studio, as well as beginners who are interested to first attend private-instruction before registering their interest in attending this bare-body class.

The class targets neither gay or straight men exclusively, and instead calls on participants to become comfortable with the notion of nudity and to 'and experience the deep healing of personal acceptance.'

In their FAQs, it deals with the question as to whether participants are required to get completely naked.

"Yes, all participants are expected to remove all of their clothes, even their socks. Accessories too: watches, loose jewelry and large rings will interfere with Naked Space activities," the website states.

Do you think naked yoga classes are sharing a little too much?
