Zayn Malik Is Going Viral After People Realized That He Has An All-Women Band For His Live Performances

Zayn Malik has won high praise on social media after people realized that he has an all-women band for his live performances.

While it wouldn’t be amiss to argue that this is perhaps the bare minimum when it comes to reasons to praise a male celebrity, the unfortunate reality is that this is actually incredibly rare for artists — making Zayn somewhat of a trailblazer when it comes to giving women musicians opportunities.

The star debuted his band back in May when he returned to the stage for the first time in more than eight years with a performance at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

For reference, the man in the beanie is Zayn's producer Dan Zaidenstadt, not a member of the band.

However, they only recently gained attention outside of his fandom after somebody tweeted a photo that one of the musicians had posted to her Instagram account.

Lisa Ramey had shared a selection of photos of herself and her fellow band members that are thought to have been taken while they were on the road for Zayn’s Stairway to the Sky Tour.

Her original caption reportedly read: “The Zweeties say hello,” leading followers to believe that this is what the women call themselves.

It’s worth noting that Lisa edited her caption after a screenshot of the post went viral, and it now reads: “The ladies say hello 💋✌🏾.”

Posting the screenshot to X, one social media user wrote: “zayn’s all-women band calling themselves ‘ZWEETIES’ - everything about this tour is so wholesome and cute man,” and it quickly caught the attention of other users.

Quote-tweeting a Zayn update account that shared the same post, one viral tweet simply reads: “this is the hottest thing a male singer could’ve ever done btw like mad respect.”

This tweet has since been seen more than 3 million times, and has racked up hundreds of thousands of likes and retweets.

“Zayn Malik just became 100x sexier than he already is omg,” somebody else wrote, while another said: “zayn growing up surrounded by women and then later assembling a band that is predominantly female just makes me smile he really is for women by women.”

And while others were quick to criticize this reaction, pointing out — as mentioned — that this is arguably the “bare minimum,” others defended Zayn.
