What You'll Get at Martha Stewart's House If You Go Trick-or-Treating on Halloween (Exclusive)
Martha Stewart is known for her mastery of crafting and cooking and all things home and garden. Over the years she's shared her homes, gardens, recipes and even her pets with us. And we're here for all of it.
We love how Stewart has continued to grow and reinvent herself over the years, becoming an SI cover model, a selfie expert and traveling the world with awesome friends, like her BFF Snoop.
When we sat down with Stewart last month during her partnership with Pure Leaf iced tea, we chatted about some of those things and we also talked about one of her favorite holidays, Halloween. She's known for her elaborate costumes and decorations and the dedicated Halloween issue of her magazine.

We knew that she went all out during the spooky season, but we wondered if there were any Halloween traditions that she liked to do at home. From our chat, we know that she might still have some next-level pot pies in the freezer and will also probably have a Halloween dinner that features pumpkin or squash, but she also shared another fun tidbit with us about how she celebrates Halloween at home. (Based on this post on her blog from 2018, we're assuming that "home" for Halloween means her farm in Bedford, NY.)
"I would say we probably get around 75 trick-or-treaters for Halloween," she told said. "That's not a lot but it is a lot for the deserted street I live on. They come with their mothers in their cars and to just get a treat." She doesn't make homemade treats for the trick-or-treaters, but she did tell us that she makes goodie bags for those who stop by.

So what's included in the bag? "Well, I don't want to stress it too much. I usually put M-O-N-E-Y in the bag," she said. Ok. We're listening. "But I also give good-quality candy." For us, there was only one follow-up question to that: Does Martha hand out full-size candy bars? "Oh yeah. Full-size," she said, as if that was really a question. "I give out real Norwegian chocolate bars. I think they're called melkesjokolade chocolate bars," she said. "It's good stuff. It's nice."
Although we can't be 100% certain, we did a little nosing around and found that Stewart has name-checked Freia melkesjokolade, a Norwegian milk chocolate, before. The brand is available on Amazon and via Norwegian-focused online food sites, if you want to try and have a Martha-approved chocolate bar for your trick-or-treaters.
