X-rated Target store display goes viral
A woman has taken to social media to lash out at department store Target for what she believed was an ‘inappropriate’ display.
Posting a photo of the ‘offending’ shelf on Facebook, the woman was likely not expecting the response her outburst ended up getting.
“Target sinks to a new low in it’s hatred of parents, children, families and anything appropriate,” the woman ranted, alongside an image of two vibrators for sale in what appears to be a US chain of the store.
“Front and center for little eyes to see. A vibrator that you can stick in BOTH holes. Because that is appropriate for little ones to see while shopping for vitamins.
“Shame on you. Again.”
The post however has blown up online, being shared more than 13K times, with over 30,000 people leaving comments.
And while there were a handful of people that agreed the placing of the product at eye-level was less than ideal, the overwhelming majority decided there was absolutely nothing wrong with the display.
“$30 is a STEAL of a deal!!” one person wrote.
“I'm going to Target and buying one tomorrow,” another person wrote.
“That thing is amazing,” another fan of the product commented.
A few also pointed out her error of claiming the vibrator for sale was for “both holes”, with many musing about the fact she had likely never used one.
“‘Both holes’. Bless her heart,” one person wrote.
“Well... it’s not actually for both holes,” another clarified.
And the unaffectionate nickname of ‘Karen’ also made a regular appearance.
“Cry about it Karen,” was one comment.
The likelihood that a child would recognise what was in front of them should they stumble upon this aisle was also very low, plenty of others argued.
“They wouldn’t know what it is if you don’t tell them,” one person said.
While another added: “Kids aren’t going to know what it is or even care unless you make a big deal about it.”
