Inside our November issue

Hello legends

As you know, being a woman means you’re 267 per cent stronger than every bloke you’ve ever met (the proof is in the man flu).

Each month your stories of resilience blow us away – in fact our Action Hero page is always one of my favourites to edit (this month’s interview with Nicole Christodoulou is especially inspiring; read it on p50).

See, women rule at overcoming obstacles– but it’s not only the life-threatening stuff that requires us to keep a cool head; sometimes just outmanoeuvring a “blue-sky thinker” in a meeting, or trying karaoke for the first time, can necessitate some serious survival tactics. Turn to p110 for strategies to navigate First World dramas like these and more.

Now, can we please also talk about how incredible Sally Fitzgibbons looks on the cover?

But it’s not just Sal’s strong body that gets the WH team pumped (although DO try her workout on p103). It’s her champion mindset that truly inspires us.

Because apart from being an author, athlete and businesswoman, she’s also giving back to the community. She’s about to launch the Sally Fitzgibbons Foundation to help promote healthy living for kids. Amazing.

Plus, she knows a thing or two about resilience – remember how she perforated her eardrum at the Fiji Pro, but then pushed on through the pain barrier and went on to win the event? Inspiring, right?

Her advice for overcoming obstacles: “A bunch of stuff can wear you out, but you just have to keep getting back up.” True that. Enjoy the issue!
