A bride is upset at her friend for announcing her pregnancy at her bridal shower.

According to a post on Reddit's "Am I the A--hole" subreddit, the woman, 31, and the bride-to-be named Abby are friends from high school. While they've drifted apart since school, the bride still asked the poster, along with some other high school friends, to be bridesmaids.

A few weeks before Abby's bridal shower, the poster learned she was pregnant, she writes on Reddit. However, she didn't want to announce her pregnancy right away since she'd previously had a miscarriage after announcing a pregnancy on the early side. So, she and her boyfriend decided to wait until they were further along to reveal the news.

But, at the bridal shower, the expecting mom ran into a dilemma after the maid of honor encouraged everyone to play a drinking game. While the poster opted out of drinking, sipping on water and telling people she had to get up early the next day, people slowly caught on.

"I thought it was fine, until halfway through my [high school] friend Jane was quite tipsy and offered me a shot, and I said no I really can’t," the woman writes. "She pestered me, and said that she would personally wake me up early tomorrow so it would be fine, but I insisted no. She then asked if I was pregnant and I got flustered and said no, but she caught me and said I was a bad liar."

"She was quite loud and congratulated me and told everyone I was pregnant," she adds. "I felt really uncomfortable, as I didn’t want to disclose this, and it was Abby’s day not mine."

"Everyone congratulated me there and I brushed it off, thinking people were quite tipsy so they’d probably not even remember tomorrow morning," she continues.

But, two days later, she got a text from Abby saying she was upset that she announced her pregnancy at her bridal shower. The woman says she apologized via text, adding that she didn't mean to reveal it then, but that Jane had realized it and announced the news.

Since sharing the story on Reddit, the post has racked up more than 900 comments from people suggesting how the woman should handle the situation.

"NTA because you didn't announce it. You didn't do anything wrong. Make sure that's clear. WHY ON EARTH would you take responsibility for someone else's mistake?" one person wrote in the comments.

"NTA- you didn’t announce it…Jane did. Jane is the one that needs to apologize," another user wrote. "Fill Abby in on what happened, and let her know Jane backed you into a corner. Tell her you had no intention of your news getting out and taking attention away from her shower."
