Things are heating up between Detective Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti) and Max Mitchell (Vanessa Morgan) — but is it all a con?
The CW released the official trailer for Wild Cards Season 2 Monday (watch it above), which is set to premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 8/7c. Ellis is back on the police force after Max got away with an elaborate con worth millions during the season finale. This time, he isn’t so trusting of Max when she returns with a shocking revelation.

The official logline for Season 2 reads: “Reassigned to work together in Season 2, the stakes are raised in the cases they solve, the search for a killer and their feelings for each other. Combining his intelligent, level-headed detective work with her charismatic skills as a con-woman, this unlikely duo is back, complete with disguises, surprising twists and of course, Ellis’ cat Marc.” Amid the car chases, shootouts, crimes and cons, will Detective Ellis and Max be able to trust each other?
The Wild Cards Season 2 trailer also gives us a first look at Martin Sheen as con man Joseph Edwards, a man who is connected to Max and her father. Alongside Sheen, the new season will also include guest stars Ally Sheedy (Single Drunk Female), Marie Avgeropoulos (The 100), Katie Findlay (Man Seeking Woman) and WWE NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo.
