Zendaya shut down the Golden Globes 2025 red carpet thanks to a pretty huge ring on her wedding finger leading to speculation that she's engaged. But sadly her boyfriend/fiancée Tom Holland was nowhere to be found. So why did the actor skip the award ceremony?
ICYMI, 28-year-old Zendaya was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) for Challengers, losing out to Demi Moore thanks to her performance in Substance.
And while the internet has gone WILD, not only about Z's two outfits for the evening, but also the fact her boyfriend of many years may or may not have proposed, he wasn't at the ceremony with her.
As fans will know, this isn't an unusual move from the 28-year-old, who recently opened up about why he doesn't join his partner at fancy events.
“It’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” he told Men’s Health. He also shared his hopes for the future: a quiet life as dad: "When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. [My life will be] golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”
The last time Tom and Zendaya appeared on a red carpet together was in December 2021, for the world premiere of the Marvel movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home. Which would make sense, considering they're both in it.
Since then, they've done a number of promotional appearances for their own projects, but nothing together - likely down to their desire to keep their relationship private.
Speaking to GQ in 2021, Tom explained, "One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world.
“I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway."
Fair enough.
