It's common for grooms to get emotional when the bride walks down the aisle, but it's not-so-common for a groom's grandparents to bring him to tears first.
George Peirce kept it together during most of his wedding processional on July 20, 2024, but couldn't hold back his tears when he saw his grandparents, Brian Bayliss, 82, and Jenny Bayliss, 80, walking arm in arm and spreading flower petals.
"This is your sign to have flower grandparents instead of flower girls at your wedding 🥹," bride Faye Plunkett wrote in an on-screen caption of the England wedding footage. The sweet video posted on Jan. 9 quickly went viral on TikTok, amassing nearly 6 million views and 680,000 likes.
"The concentration on their faces 🥹," Plunkett, 27, added in the post's caption.
In the video, Peirce grins as he sees his grandmother and grandfather smiling and laughing as they toss flower petals out of a wicker basket onto the grass. As they get closer, Peirce begins to cry and covers his wet eyes with his hand.
When the Baylisses reached their emotional grandson, they shared heartwarming hugs.

Plunkett told Good Morning America she and Peirce's guests had "no idea" about his grandparents' plan, and that "there were lots of tears."
"We knew they wanted to be involved in the day so we were thinking of ways to do this and as we had no kids during the day, this was the best idea," Plunkett recounted to the outlet of her "adult only" wedding, adding that the Baylisses were "honored and excited" to play their "floral grandparents" roles and that it "meant the world" to her husband.

In the comments section of her TikTok video, Plunkett noted that having floral grandparents at her wedding was especially "special," "wholesome" and "precious" to her because she no longer has any living grandparents of her own.
"I don’t have any left but it made it even more important for us to include them 💗," she commented in part. She added in another reply, "You can see the emotion, the tears really were real 🥹😭."
She encourages other brides to follow the trend of having floral grandparents instead of flower girls.
"Hoping if people are lucky enough to have grandparents at their wedding we can make this more of a thing 😭," she wrote in the comments.
