Yahoo Lifestyle Why Kelly Ripa Is Missing From ‘Live’
Loyal fans who tuned into Live With Kelly & Mark this week might have been surprised to see that Kelly Ripa was missing from the show—but where was the longtime morning show host?
On both Wednesday, Feb. 26, and Friday, Feb. 28, Mark Consuelos was joined by Live's announcer, Deja Vu, instead of his wife, behind the desk. (Ripa did appear on the Thursday, Feb. 27 episode of the show.) Friday's broadcast was pre-recorded, per Decider.
While Consuelos didn't give a reason for Ripa's absence on either day, the couple is gearing up for their After the Oscars Show, airing live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, March 3, the morning after the Academy Awards.
Ripa was also by her husband's side on Thursday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which films in Hollywood.

While chatting with Jimmy Kimmel, the couple opened up about a recent interaction they had on Live which the late-show host called "one of the great television moments."
In a Live clip Kimmel shared with the audience, Ripa spoke to Consuelos before noticing he wasn't listening to her at all.
"It actually happens a lot more than you'd think," Ripa told Kimmel after the video played.
"As a husband, sometimes you wait for those cue words, like 'police,' 'help,' and I was just having a moment. I was literally thinking about lunch," Consuelos admitted.
"Is this something that happens at home a lot, too?" Kimmel asked.
"Oh, a hundred percent. That moment, at home, is 99 percent of the conversation," Ripa replied.
"When it spills over on the air perhaps you have a problem," Kimmel quipped.
"That's when I draw the line," Ripa agreed. "I'm like, at least pretend you're paying attention to me on air. From nine until 10. It's not that hard."
"Sometimes I take a little nap. I just take a little nap during the show," Consuelos explained.
"He'll say to me, 'I just zoned out.' And I'm like, 'No s--t,'" Ripa joked.
