Why Keith Urban isn't returning to The Voice: 'Had a blast'

Keith Urban has revealed why he isn't returning for the next season of The Voice Australia alongside fellow judges Jessica Mauboy, Guy Sebastian and Rita Ora.

Speaking with The Sunday Telegraph, the singer shared that while he loves doing the show, he's unable to do the next season but would never say never to doing it again down the track.

He'll then be working on his next album, due for release in early or mid-2023.

"Unfortunately the timing of it means that I won’t be able to come back for this next season of The Voice," he shared. "I will be finishing this album, put it out and then we will be resuming our Vegas residency, which we hadn’t been able to do through the pandemic."

Speaking of Christmas, Keith also told Insider, "I am really looking forward to it and it is summer, a beautiful time to be there. My mum just turned 80 and Nic’s mum, who knows how many Christmases we get with anybody ever but particularly with our mums, I really cherish that chance to spend Chrissy with them and our family in Aus."

He added that it'll be "amazing" to spend Christmas with his and Nicole's extended family as they don't have any relatives in Nashville, where they live.
