Yahoo Lifestyle Whoopi Goldberg Gleams in Liquid Metal Dress by Christian Siriano on 2025 Oscars Red Carpet with Daughter Alex Martin
Whoopi Goldberg gave old Hollywood glamour a modern twist on Sunday’s 2025 Oscars red carpet in Los Angeles. The actress, who is one of the presenters at the 97th Academy Awards, wore a voluminous ballgown by Christian Siriano.
Goldberg’s dress was made of a rich navy blue fabric with a highly reflective, liquid-like satin finish. It featured an off-the-shoulder neckline with a structured, pleated bodice.

The dress is part of Siriano’s fall 2025 collection, which was inspired by “the power of woman.”
“I wanted the whole beginning of the collection to feel cool and almost a bit more wearable and then it goes into my fantasy world that I love,” Siriano told WWD in February.
Goldberg was accompanied by her daughter, Alex Martin, who wore an edgy, faux leather dress with metallic embellishments on the side and a sheer panel.
On the red carpet, Goldberg reminisced on her first time with her daughter at the Oscars red carpet in 1991, when she won an Academy Award for her role in “Ghost.” “I brought my kid [then], and now she’s with me again! It’s all good!” Goldberg told “E! News.”
The 97th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, takes place on Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Conan O’Brien is hosting the ceremony, honoring the best in cinema from the past year. Notable presenters include Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Oprah Winfrey, Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone and more.
