SAM & SASHA TELL WHO: 'Our next big move'

After a whirlwind year in which they fell in love in front of the nation and had a microscope on their fledgling romance, The Bachelorette Australia’s Sam Frost and Sasha Mielczarek tell WHO they are looking forward to a “fresh start” in 2016.

“I am ready to put this year behind me, Sammy can put this year behind her with dating the other guys and that [on TV], and just concentrate on us two,” Mielczarek, 30, tells WHO, as he stars with his “amazing girlfriend” in WHO’s annual Best & Worst issue—rounding up the biggest news stories, shocks and scandals of the past 12 months.

The Bachelorette Australia lovers Sasha Mielczarek and Sam Frost photographed for WHO in Sydney on October 26.

Conceding it’s been “tough” navigating the media glare and a long-distance relationship—the building construction manager is based on NSW’s South Coast for work, while Frost is in Sydney for her new 2DayFM breakfast radio gig––Frost agrees, “It’s nice to start that new year,” noting it was a “big milestone” when the couple got a maltese-shi tzu cross puppy named Rocky in November. “It doesn’t matter what challenges life is going to throw you,” she adds. “I’ve got my best friend next to me … things don’t seem so scary.”

While 2015 was one of the biggest years of his life, Mielczarek reveals the new year is shaping up to be just as exciting for the couple, who plan to ring in their first New Year’s Eve together with his family at a holiday house on the NSW North Coast, go on their first overseas holiday, and finally move in together.

“We are just going to take it baby steps from there,” notes Mielczarek when asked about a possible engagement. Adds Frost, 26, “I’m just a baby, so I don’t really put too much pressure on that … But we are genuinely madly in love.”
