Wendy's Fans Want to Try New International Frosty, Say the 'US Never Gets the Good Stuff’

Wendy’s fans are begging the fast food chain to bring one of its international Frosty flavors to the United States, complaining that the “US never gets the good stuff.”

The burger chain regularly rotates Frosty flavors in its restaurants, giving fans a chance to try a wide variety of frozen treats, from salted caramel to the SpongeBob Squarepants collab, Pineapple Under the Sea, a vanilla base swirled with pineapple mango purée.

But even though American fans are currently enjoying the vanilla Frosty in addition to the classic Frosty, what many want to try is the new ube flavor available now in the Philippines.

Popular food blogger Snackolator shared the news on Jan. 25, posting a photo of the bright purple treat alongside a caption that said “Oh this is UBElievable - Wendy's just dropped their new Ube Frosty in the Philippines!” and asked fans their opinion.

“Would you want to see this one come to the US? I'm happier with Thin Mints that we're getting, but someday this would be nice!” the influencer said.

“I got so excited until I saw the flag,” said one fan, and another agreed, commenting, “NOOOOOOOOOO!!! It’s supposed to be in the U.S. 😭😭😭😭.” A third was on the same page, sharing that they “swear i see a picture and hope it’s for the US go to comments pleading and it’s always across seas 😩.”

“Idk which is worse..all these companies having the best flavors outside the US..or you teasing us by letting us know about them😒,” said one commenter. “US never gets the good stuff 😪,” complained a fan.

One fan teased that the Frosty was a nod to a popular McDonald’s character, writing, “Wendy’s grimace shake?!” and another felt the same way, commenting, “Grimace frosty.”

Ube is having its moment in the United States right now. The sweet purple yam has been featured in a variety of treats at the uber-popular Trader Joe’s, was featured in a limited-time shake at Jack in the Box, and is currently on the dessert menu at popular Filipino fast food chain Jollibee, which has 78 locations open or opening soon across the country.
