Consider this a content warning: This week’s episode of The Daily Beast Podcast kicks off with a roasting (as in, they should probably be burned) on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “workout jeans,” which were back in the news cycle in an unsightly photo this week. “My top choice for the name of his denim line? Yeasty Jeans,” co-host Samantha Bee joked, while Joanna Coles added that, “I bet RFK Jr. thinks if you just leave your jeans for a few days, they self-clean—like cashmere.”

“His jeans probably stand on their own,” Bee then continued. “I’m sure they’re trying to run out the door.”

But as one door closes, another opens: With that, MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle joined the podcast with a scathing critique of the media’s current climate: “Forever, we thought sex sells. Sure, sex sells—but rage is what sells now,” she observed. Ruhle emphasized the need to implement higher standards for online news influencers, while Bee advocated for a ban on “anonymity” to combat online toxicity.

Some secrets are good, however. Case in point, the popular new Netflix holiday movie Our Little Secret, starring Lindsay Lohan and actor Dan Bucatinsky, who also joined the podcast to discuss his role: “At first, I thought, ‘This is too small for me,’” he admitted. “But I remembered Shonda Rhimes’ advice: just say yes. And being on set, bonding with Kristin Chenoweth... it turned into one of the most satisfying experiences of my career.”

Reflecting on ego, he shared, “My mom always says, ‘I thought your part would be bigger.’ But this time, it didn’t matter. It was about the joy of doing.”
