'Virgin River's Alexandra Breckenridge Reveals Exciting Season 6 Update
The wait for Virgin River Season 6 may not be as long as we once thought, thanks to an exciting tease from star Alexandra Breckenridge. The actress, 42, posted to her Instagram stories, responding to a fan's question about whether there's an update for the upcoming season.
"A lot of you out there, superfans get privileged information," she said, "I don’t know where you get this stuff. I’m curious. I know it was announced that Season 6 will be airing this year in 2024, where, previously this year, we didn’t think it would air until 2025."
This comes as a much-needed update for fans of the Netflix series. Breckenridge's co-star, Martin Henderson, had previously posted back in May on Instagram footage of him in the studio, putting in some last-minute additional dialogue recordings. "We are close to wrapping up Season 6," he said.

Still, fans were questioning how "close" the show truly was. After all, Netflix has not yet announced an official release date for Season 6. And when Virgin River was not included in its list of shows returning in 2024, we assumed the show would likely come back the next year instead. It's unknown if the production calendar just sped up since then or if the release had not been done yet until specific things had gone through.
Additionally, Breckenridge pointed out how the fans already have information about the episode titles for Season 6, even questioning out loud if they had been initially announced. An interview with writer Ildiko Susany confirmed that the upcoming season would see a reduced episode count from the two prior, going from 12 episodes down to 10. And, though the source is unknown, indeed, the 10 episode titles have leaked. They are: "Brothers & Sisters," "Ghosts," "Going Overboard," "Hope Springs Eternal," "I Climbed a Mountain and I Turned Around," "Love Story," "Prelude to a Kiss," "The Big Day," "The Broken Places," and "The Jury’s Out." And with the release date of these episodes seemingly coming sooner than anticipated, it just amps up the speculation of what may be coming for Melinda, Jack, and company later this year.
