Virgin River Season 6 Trailer Reveals [Spoiler]’s Long-Awaited Return
Virgin River‘s prodigal son is coming home. As revealed in the just-released trailer for Season 6, Ricky (played by Grayson Gurnsey) will return to the show for the first time since leaving town at the end of Season 4.
It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, but Ricky is briefly spotted with his arm around ex-girlfriend Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) around the trailer’s 16-second mark. When Ricky left Virgin River for basic training, Lizzie was already in a relationship with Denny (Kai Bradbury), but we’re pretty sure that her pregnancy will be news to him.

As TVLine previously reported, Ricky’s homecoming almost happened in the second half of Season 5, but there simply wasn’t enough room to service the story.
“Having him return [for Christmas] was part of the plan,” Virgin River showrunner Patrick Sean Smith told TVLine last year. “But the episodes were so full already, having to answer the cliffhangers from Part 1 and then setting up the cliffhangers for Season 6, and all of the fun that we had planned.”
Of course, Ricky’s return is merely one piece of Season 6, which largely revolves around the long-awaited wedding of Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson). Additional series regulars include Tim Matheson as Doc, Annette O’Toole as Hope, Colin Lawrence as Preacher, Benjamin Hollingsworth as Brady, Zibby Allen as Brie, Marco Grazzini as Mike, Kandyse McClure as Kaia and Mark Ghanime as Cameron.
