The View star Sunny Hostin had much better things to do than watch Donald Trump's second presidential inauguration on Monday, thanks very much.

"I decided to protect my peace and celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day yesterday," the 56-year-old legal expert revealed on Tuesday's live episode of the talk show, noting that her previous day's itinerary included a trip to a restaurant chain with friends.

"I did not watch the inauguration. My sorority sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated has service day in Harlem yesterday. I enjoyed that. I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and watched Notre Dame unfortunately not be victorious, but I went with a bunch of my law school buddies and we ate wings," she continued. "Thank you, Tony, who's the manager there, for making me feel good."

Hostin — who famously sat in last year on Trump's legal proceedings with her now-iconic binoculars — did, however, break down her thoughts on some of the "hypocrisy" she heard about at the event, which took place Monday afternoon in Washington, D.C.

"The one thing I did think about was the hypocrisy of having a man be inaugurated to be president on the same day as we commemorate MLK. That same man saying that he was going to get rid of diversity, equity, and inclusion," Hostin observed. "The irony of it, because Martin Luther King not only wanted racial equality, he wanted economic equality, and that is something that people tend to miss. I want to remind people that he said that Black Americans deserved reparations for the injustices they faced."

She also took issue with Trump's comments about making sure the American political system was one of merit, noting that she felt he "didn't become President of the United States because of merit," because he had "no political experience whatsoever" when he first took office in 2017.

Hostin and her cohosts have long criticized Trump and his incoming administration, including Alyssa Farah Griffin, who previously worked under Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Griffin also said on Tuesday's episode that she'd continue to call out elements of Trump's presidency that she felt were problematic, including pardoning more than 1,500 Jan. 6 insurrectionists.
