The View might've just stirred an already simmering pot filled with former cohost Meghan McCain's beef with the talk show she famously left — and subsequently (repeatedly) criticized — in 2021.

During a Wednesday morning interview with Saturday Night Live alums Laraine Newman, Julia Sweeney, and Leslie Jones, current cohost Sara Haines cued up a clip of Jones playing moderator Whoopi Goldberg in a past SNL sketch, which also included a recreation of an iconic 2019 fight between Joy Behar (played by Kate McKinnon) and McCain (Aidy Bryant).

Haines introduced the clip by telling the trio of guests that the panelists have "always loved The View sketches" on the show. The broadcast then played a portion of the sketch that saw Bryant quote McCain telling Behar in 2019 that "part of your job is to listen to me" after Behar requested that the conservative cohost let her finish a point she was in the middle of making. The SNL rendition comically included a portion that saw Goldberg spray her colleagues with a water bottle.

When the camera returned to the cohosts and the SNL alums, Haines applauded and called the sketch "amazingess," before carrying on with the interview.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for McCain — whom has repeatedly criticized The View in recent years and called the show a "miserable" experience — for comment.

Later, Goldberg praised Jones for ushering in a new era of View satire on the NBC comedy show, which turns 50 this year.

"I remember getting a text from you saying, 'I'm gonna bring you some glasses, because you need to have better glasses when you're doing me,'" Jones said, with Goldberg later referencing Kenan Thompson's past portrayal of her by adding: "One of the things we loved about the fact that you did, when SNL did us, was that finally women were playing us, because for the longest time, it was all these guys playing us."

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on ABC.
